my sweet Trinity...

i wanted to post a few pictures of my sweet Trinity. she is wanting to grow-up faster than both mommy and daddy's hearts can handle. she talks about getting married and her kids all the time. by the way, she says she is going to have 14 boys and 3 girls! she sat in the entry way with the front door open for a good hour watching the neighbor boys play basketball. she has had a crush on one of the boys in the neighborhood for the last year and a half. the kicker is, she has never met him!

out of mine, into hers..

Lilly is finally in her own room. she has been there for two weeks now! i am so proud of her for making the transition even though both she and i didn't want it to happen. it took me a month longer to move Lilly into her room than it did with Trinity. with Lilly, i didn't have Dr. Strong telling me to get her out of my room the way i did with Trinity. it could be because i didn't bother to mention that she was still in my room when he asked how she was sleeping at her 4 month checkup. (i learned from last time) i think the real reason was i just wasn't ready to let go of my baby. it seems like they go from being this brand new ball of helplessness to a 3 1/2 year old independent turkey overnight. it was heart-wrenching the first couple of nights i had her across the house. i slept on the couch so i could get to her as soon as possible if she needed me. Oh, did she need me!! my baby girl would wake up every 15-30 minutes looking for me. the cry she would let out when she couldn't find me just tore my heart into a million pieces. the first couple of nights i tried the move i failed miserably. i would give in after a couple hours and just go back to my bed with her. the main problem with the transition was that mommy wasn't within reach! i had let Lilly sleep in the bed right next to me for 5 months, and then all of a sudden she is all by herself in her crib. i know, i know! you shouldn't ever let your baby sleep in the same bed with you, and i didn't with Trinity, but Lilly had some difficulties in the beginning. once we figured out the problem it was two months in and both she and i had grown quite comfortable with the sleeping arrangements.

gotta love those baby kisses..

Lilly loves to give kisses! i say that they're kisses, but actually she is eating us! she especially loves to give them to momma. she grabs a hold of your face, or whatever she can get her little hands on, and brings you in.

new sound...

Lilly is going to be a non-stop talker. Those of you that have met my Trinity may have thought it wasn't possible for any one little person to use so many words in such a short amount of time. Well, I think Lilly is going to have her beat! I still believe she will be much more shy than her big sister, but once she is comfortable around you there will be no stopping her. For awhile now, she has been blowing raspberries, smiling, laughing like crazy and giving us lots of oohs and, my least favorite of them all, grunts. Her new sound is "ba-ba". When she says it, she means it with everything that is in her. she will suck in her bottom lip further than i knew possible to start it up. it is so cute! she does it so much she will leave her lower lip red for sometime afterwards.

another milestone...

She finally did it!! She has been trying for a couple of weeks now, and she finally accomplished it! Lilly can roll from her back to her belly!!! yeah!!! I could see it in her big beautiful blue eyes that she was proud of herself. She has been able to roll from her belly to her back for awhile now, but the opposite has given her some trouble. As I am sitting here at the computer bragging about her latest milestone, she is spinning herself around on the floor so she can face me. Before we know it, she is going to be taking off. She is starting to pull her knees up under her as I am typing. I don't know, maybe today will be the end of stationary Lilly!
